I love 成长ing herbs in my garden and one of the reasons is that they thrive in our hot, 干燥的夏天很少大惊小怪.
I must admit that I sometimes forget to make use of my 新鲜香草, 或者有时我拥有的比我需要的多. Some frost-tender herbs like 罗勒 don’t 成长 in winter in my garden – so either I have too much in the summer and almost none at all in winter.
好吧,没有更多的! Did you know that you could freeze your 新鲜香草 so you could use them during the winter months?
I tried this with my 细香葱 earlier this summer and it was so easy to do.
Place your 切碎的香草 into an ice cube tray, filling up each one about 3/4 of the way full.
装满水, taking care to allow a little room for expansion since water expands when it freezes.
一旦冻结, pop out your ‘草立方体’ and put them in a freezer container or plastic container and store in your freezer.
Now, whenever you need 新鲜香草 when you cook, add a few 冰块 to your favorite sauce.
**You can also freeze herbs into 冰块 using olive oil instead of water, if desired.
