沙漠的春天给花园带来了一连串的活动，其中很多都涉及到容器园艺.

Examples of cool-season annuals are pansies, 矮牵牛, 和金鱼草, which are 成长n fall through spring. BUT, they won’t survive hot, desert summers. 所以，在4月下旬，是时候种植可以吸收热量的开花植物了. My favorites include angelonia, ‘Blue Victoria’ salvia, and vinca.

Here are some of my favorites:

Grow herbs and vegetables along with flowers in pots.

Leaf lettuce and garlic 成长 along with flowering 矮牵牛.

Did you know that you can 成长 vegetables in pots? I love doing this in my garden. 在秋天，我在我的大花盆里种植莴苣、菠菜和大蒜，旁边是盛开的矮牵牛花. When March arrives, I like to add basil, peppers along with annuals.

在春天, vegetables such as cucumbers, 布什bean, and even zucchini can 成长 in containers paired with flowers.

Plant 肉质植物 for a low-maintenance container.

Desert Spoon (Dasylirion wheeleri).

在一般情况下, 肉质植物 are lower-maintenance as well, so they are an excellent choice for the ‘fuss-free’ gardener.

Use a potting 混合 specially formulated for 仙人掌 & 肉质植物, which will drain well.

Fill the bottom space of large pots with empty, plastic containers.
